Playing Sound Files

Your Fx Audio Player will use any playback capable device installed on your computer.

If you have more than one such device they will be listed in the drop down list of devices in the top panel.

Before you can play a sound file you must load it. If you opened a file from the main module it will automatically be loaded in the player.

You can always load another file by clicking on then open folder icon

Once you've loaded an audio file the Play Button will be enabled.

During play the Stop, Pause, Fast Forward and Fast Backward buttons will be enabled.

As the file plays the horizontal scroll bar will reflect the play position.

You can move the sound to any sample by dragging the scroll handle. Pressing the fast forward or fast backward button will move it as well.

Typically your sound device has a mixer for playback and a mixer for recording. If you set the device to display an icon in your tool tray you can easily open the mixer without fumbling through your control panel applets.

The volume, fade and mute control in the Fx Audio Player are linked to the master volume of your mixer. It may be necessary to increase your Wave volume from the mixer before noticing any effect. Please note that the balance fader and mute check box are not displayed in the compact view. See below.

Viewing Options

The system default is full view mode with Show Controls checked as pictured below. The AV display controls can turn on and off the channels and grid lines as well as sizing, moving and changing the color of the display within the grid. When Use Equalizer is checked, all output sound is filtered through the graphic equalizer .

When compact view is checked the controls for AV display are hidden as are the balance and mute controls.

When show controls is not checked the AV display controls are hidden which permits the AV display to occupy the available width.
